In September 2013 at the Performance centre, in Penryn, Cornwall I put on a scratch night for dance & theatre practitioners to come and experiment in front of a supportive audience. I did a scratch as a collaborative duo (Hope & Anchor) with Joanna Hope Bricher. We made a short piece using an OHP and manipulated objects to create live animation and layered this with layers of spoken poetry. It was a really successful beginning towards working towards our new show which will be based in a home built shadow theatre using a poetic narrative.

A publication of handbound letterpress books by Sinister Bird Small press. Toured across the U.K. in a van during Autumn 2009 This involved the collaborative writing and printing and binding of an edition of 30 books as a gift exchange project. Sinister Bird also self-published 3 letterpress/linocut pamphlets of poetry: The Sinking Ship; Lands End and Death Sentences.

Sortes Virgilianae at Anatomy, Machines of Ruin, Summerhall, Edinburgh 2013 Live Letterpress printing and distribution. Our divination is by bibliomancy. Printing desperate (mis)fortunes for the survivors to grasp, ink still wet and smudged by your trembling digits. The Sortes Virgilianae was an Ancient Roman and Mediaeval fortune-telling practice in which chance selections from Virgil's Aeneid were taken as predictions. Using clanking archaic technologies, self-appointed calamity prophets Hope & Anchor hawked warnings and prophecies amongst the Machines of Ruin.

Sinister Bird Small press was a collaboration between myself and Joanna Hope Bricher coming to a close in 2010. Sinister Bird that used traditional letterpress printing to create small publications of poetry using an 8 x 5 Adana press. This was toured across the U.K. in a small red van and led to printing and binding a run of books across a 3000 mile round trip as a gift exchange project. The texts were generated from collaborative community writing exercises, written through experiences of gift exchange, hospitality, and time spent in company and landscape. The books were made for and printed in the places in which they were written and sent back to those we worked with. The idea behind the project was that Sinister Bird would create a book where the press used one voice that was spoken by many, across many miles and documented within the book. A copy of one of the books was requested by the Bodleian library.
